Clone dvd and prasso primo dvd are the best tools for ps2 dvd backups - for cds, use clone cd (recently acquired by slysoft) and cdr win... only burn on high quality medias - verbatim media is a recognised standard for ps2 backups, though i also have a 100% success record with yellow datawrite classics when burning for dvd discs... patches are needed for most new ps2 games, older ones do not require patching @ all - qwerto was correct in saying a mod chip will be needed tho - accept nothing less than the messiah 2 or a technical equivilent there are over 50 ps2 modchips on the market, but i only chip using messiahs as they have 100% reliability in my experience - there are other chips out there that as as decent though - for info, check cdrom-guide.com/forums (ps2 backup section). do not look in the back of ur local papers for chippers - some of my past customers who have come to me for repairs have had their chips fitted by blatant amateurs and it shows (one guy had used fu2kin electrical tape instead of solder) try and track down a chipper in ur locality via the web site above. because of the rules here, i cannot (and will not) post the names of any patching sites, but going through the forums above with a fine toothed comb will lead u to what u want one more thing - bootdiscs, no solder mods, anything else that sounds great and easy = bu||sh!t - these things do not work well and have terrible track records. oh, one more thing, u get what u pay for with ur chipping service... bare that in mind - an experienced chipper will have well in excess of 300+ happy customers to their name at an absolute minimum... ...do not attempt chipping urself, unless u have good skills and tha big kahunas |
