The V-Drum® Flagship for 2004!
Roland has improved upon their industry-standard V-Drums by starting from the ground up. The heart of this flagship system is the TD-20 module with new sounds and functions, superb expressiveness, and in-depth V-Editing. The patented mesh pads have great dynamic range, natural rim-shot triggering, and a new look with stunning black finishes. The TS-20S-BK also features the amazing new V-Hi-Hat with full motion capability.
TD-20 Percussion Sound Module
The newly designed brain has more than 500 new sounds plus superb expressiveness and dynamic range. Its sensitivity lets you play more naturally without having to adjust your technique. You can vary your rim shots and bass drum sounds by varying your technique. A new interval control offers better snare rolls and more realistic cymbal swells.
More powerful V-Editing
You get greater modeling power using Roland's latest COSM technology. Careful analysis of an all-new array of physical drums gives you a lot more choices. For example, you can now select from several types of kick beaters such as felt, wood, or plastic. Cymbal sizes can now be changed along with their sizzle factor and mic position. You can even add snare-drum "buzz" that matches your selected snare. Subtle nuances like these collectively make a huge difference in the overall sound of the V-Pro.
Enhanced Performance Features
Onstage and in the studio, the TD-20 offers a host of powerful features to make the drummer's life an easier one. 8 group faders let you adjust the relative levels of each part (snare, kick, hi-hat, etc.). 15 individual compressors and EQs let you sculpt each sound to perfection. A 5-part sequencer is loaded with preset backing patterns and plenty of room for your own. Ambience effects and a stellar multi-effects processor let you further shape your sound. The new Mastering Room lets you add compression and EQ to the overall sound. 10 analog outputs plus S/PDIF digital output give you plenty of mixing and recording options.
New CompactFlash® slot
The TD-20 now also has a CompactFlash slot to store custom kits and patterns on optional cards. An expansion bay on the underside means your TD-20 is future-proof. You can even use the TD-20's V-LINK technology along with an optional video editor from Edirol to trigger images or change cameras from the pads or kicks!
VH-12 V-Hi-Hat
This breakthrough electronic hat is designed to precisely model the look and feel of its acoustic counterpart. It'll even mount on any acoustic hi-hat stand. Full motion capability on the top and bottom cymbals lets you play with ultra-natural stick and pedal work. Dual triggers convincingly convey all the nuances of an acoustic hi-hat from open to closed to half-open. Applying pressure to the pedal, even after closing, will alter the pitch for playing fast and tight articulations.
PD-125BK/105BK 12"/10" V-Pads
A brand-new sensor mechanism offers more accurate triggering, resulting in even and accurate sensing between the rim and head. They're the first V-Pads with rim shot capabilities on the toms and they even include the actual rim-click sound.
KD-120BK V-Kick 12" Trigger Pad
The time-tested design is now black to complement the rest of the pads. It offers fast, natural kick triggering and is compatible with optional double bass pedals.
MDS-20BK Drum Stand
Its curved design keeps everything in reach. Hardware has been upgraded with more durable T-fittings. Quick-release cam levers on each leg and the cymbal stands allow the tiers to stay in place when adjusting vertical height.
